At least 27 killed including 6 children as Syrian forces carry strikes in Hams

DAMASCUS (Web Desk) - At least 27 people have been killed and several others were left severely injured when jets of Syrian military targeted different areas in Homs province of the country.

According to monitoring group as many as six children were also included in dead.

The forces targeted residential areas of cities during the recent series of aerial attacks, the statement further added.

Meanwhile Syrian government has confirmed that it had asked Russia to send in troops to Syria to help fighting the anti-Asad fighters.

Earlier on this day Russian parliament granted permission to President Vladimir Putin to deploy air force to Syria in a bid to support Syrian President Bashar al-Asad.

The Federation Council unanimously backed Putin’s call to send in air troops to Syria to fight Islamic State (ISIS) associated militant groups.

According to a statement he operation’s primary goal is to exclusively air support the Syrian armed forces in their fight against IS and other groups challenging Bashar Al-Asad in the region.
