South Africa beat Pakistan by 6 runs in first T20

CAPE TOWN – South Africa beat Pakistan by six runs in the first T20 of the three matches series at Cape Town on Friday.

The hosts set 192-6 runs target for Pakistan. Opener RR Hendricks cracked 74 in 41 balls, du Plessis blasted 78 in 54 balls with the help of 6 sixes and destroyed Pakistan bowling attack after South Africa invited to bat on a perfect batting track at Cape Town.

Usman Shinwari took three wickets while Shoaib Malik, Hasan Ali and Imad Wasim got one wicket apiece.

In reply, Pakistan team were only managed to score 186-9 runs in the stipulated overs.

South Africa have won six out of their 11 fixtures against Pakistan while the Men in Green have won five matches so far.

However, world number one Pakistan have been on a roll in T20I cricket and are on a remarkable run of 12 consecutive series wins.

However, the Proteas will want to bring the momentum from the ODI series into the T20Is.
