Here is Bollywood s worst rendition of the iconic Pakistani song Hawa Hawa

Making scandalous and masala remakes of old hit songs of the 80’s and 90’s is not a new concept for the Bollywood film industry. Only a few remakes out of all make it big through people’s lives and straight into their home or car sound systems. Recently, Arjun Kapoor’s upcoming film Mubarakan has just featured a recreated version of the 1980’s song Hawa Hawa, originally sung by Pakistani pop artist, Hasan Jahangir.

The 32-year-old Mubarakan actor took to Twitter to share the news with the link of the video song, also featuring Ileana D’ Cruz. Sung by Mika Singh and Prakriti Kakar, the song is a rip-off of the old number. Arjun captioned it “Lo phaela diya raita.

Adding a peculiarly ironic connotation to his very caption, “Lo Phaela Diya Raita,” we can say that he literally did that by ruining the ever-green and illustrious song.

Soon after his tweet, Pakistani fans created an uproar on the micro-blogging platform slamming the team of Mubarakan for copying and remixing the song.

Here’s a look:

Following the bashing from his fans on social media, Arjun Kapoor clarified in a statement saying, “The original song celebrates the spirit of his (Hassan Jahangir’s) forthcoming film. We’ve chosen Hawa Hawa according to the situation. It’s a song we have all grown up dancing to and enjoying ourselves.

Here’s the original song of Hawa Hawa. Let us know what you think about the remake!
