Lakhvi s jail life is luxurious: BBC report

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, arrested over the charges of Mumbai-attacks planning in 2008, is enjoying a luxurious life inside Adiala jail in Rawalpindi as he can access internet, watch television, use telephone and receive visitors, said a report by BBC Urdu service.

“They have the jailer’s permission to have a television, mobile phones and access to internet, as well as dozens of visitors a day,” said the report, citing jail officials.

Mr Lakhvi “can receive any number of guests, any time of the day or night, seven days a week,” a jail official said, according to the report.

According to the news agency, no special permission is required, and his visitors are not even required to identify themselves to the jail authorities.

The report also criticises the role of Pakistan and its military establishment in investigation of the attacks that had killed 166 people.

Lakhvi was released on bail a month ago, in the Mumbai attacks case, but the authorities refusing to release him, booked him for another case.

Lakhvi, and all others under arrest in Pakistan, have always refuted the allegations levelled by India.
