DUBAI (Web Desk) – Dubai Police plans to launch its first intelligent robot officer – aka Robocop – within two years.
The humanoid officer will provide all Dubai Police services to the public in six languages, much like a human policeman.
Director of General Administration of Smart Services at Dubai Police, Colonel Khaled Nasser Al Razzuqi told ‘Emarat Al Youm’ that the ‘Robocop’ will represent a shift in police services and it will be launched in two stages before the start of Expo 2020.
The robot will be linked to non-emergency call centre 901 and it could move swiftly in areas like shopping malls, to interact with people.
He explained that the Robocop will be programed in a smart way that allows it to communicate and provide all information by itself, without human interference.
