Pti Lawyers Chant Slogans Against Cjp Isa Outside Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyers staged a protest outside the Supreme Court in the federal capital and raised slogans against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

Reports said the lawyers staged protest following the directive of PTI founder Imran Khan, who has been detained in Adiala jail for months in multiple cases.

Security officials have sealed the Red Zone in Islamabad while containers have been placed on various roads, causing massive traffic jams on the Express Highway and other roads.

As PTI lawyers crossed barriers to reach the Supreme Court for the protest, a heavy police contingent has been deployed in the area.

The lawyers’ rally, which began from the Islamabad High Court, arrived outside the apex court, where they chanted slogans against Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The lawyers had also brought an effigy of the chief justice with them.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali also spoke to media outside the top court where he said it is the responsibility of the Supreme Court to protect the rights of the public.

He emphasized that whenever there is an attempt to divide the judiciary, lawyers have come out to protest.

He described the proposed constitutional amendment as unconstitutional, stating that the entire country has been turned into a “container city.”
