Gender equality: Is a myth or a myth?

8th March 2018 didn’t go unnoticed in Pakistan. “Aurat March” had made headlines and generated vigorous reactions – both positive and negative. Organizers were applauded and criticized, but nothing changed in reality. The day was over and soon the talk went away too. What remained was the fact that gender inequality is still prevalent in the society.

Gender disparity in Pakistan is a cry for help. Despite being listed in “main four countries of focus” for United Nation’s Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, Pakistan continues to disappoint its female population on so many levels; including education, nourishment, healthcare, employment and so on…
