SHARJAH – The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has announced the schedule for the 43rd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2024).
The much-anticipated event will be held from November 6 to 17 under the theme ‘It Starts with a Book’. The event would be attended by publishers from UAE, Arab region and across the world while it will also gather distinguished authors, intellectuals, and creatives from various fields of life.
They will share the insightful experience with the audience during the event besides deliberating on range of topics including critical literary, cultural, and intellectual topics.
A tribute will also be paid to the Kingdom of Morocco, who will be the Guest of Honour for SIBF 2024. A special programme has been arranged to celebrate Morocco’s vibrant cultural heritage.
The programme comprises workshops, book signings, and artistic performances that connect audiences with Moroccan literature and creativity.
The theme, ‘It Starts with a Book,’ highlights the Shajrah’s belief that book reading and knowledge are crucial for progress of a society.
It highlights that book opens gates to boundless knowledge and played a key role in learning process of human beings.
SBA Chairperson Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi said: “In an increasingly interconnected world, the role of books in bridging cultures and fostering understanding is more vital than ever. SIBF stands as a testament to this mission, uniting thousands of writers, intellectuals, and artists from around the globe in Sharjah. It serves as a powerful reminder that the foundations of every great civilisation are laid with books, and the values that shape nations are deeply rooted in literature.”
