LAHORE – The Lahore Arts Council (LAC), which is known for upbringing talented and creative artists every year, has now initiated measures to start regular degree courses and diplomas for emerging artists and youth.
For the very purpose, the Alhamrah administration has started hiring faculty for new classes.
The meeting, headed by LAC Executive Director Atta Muhammad Khan, decided that teachers of music, dance, singing and other classes would submit their course outlines to the executive director in 15 days while the council would prepare a summary on the faculty needs.
Students of Performing Arts will wear identity cards on the premises of Alhamra. Mr. Khan said the classes, usually taken as a hobby, would be turned into diploma and degree courses and the council had signed an accord with the Punjab University Musicology Department and more such agreements would be signed with other cultural organizations.
This is a great initiative for promoting the rich culture of Pakistan and the students will get better know how about art and it’s importance in life.
Pakistani youth are having immense talent and they should be provided platforms for exhibiting their skills and creative ideas at national and international level.
World-renowned painter Pablo Picasso said that: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up”.
