Women Super Hockey League: Lahore trounce Peshawar 4-1; Quetta vs Islamabad in 1-1 draw

LAHORE – Two matches concluded on the second day of the 2nd Women Hockey Super League at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

The first match between Quetta Panthers and Islamabad Shaheen ended in a well contested 1-1 draw.

Lahore Lions, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Karachi Dolphins on Tuesday, appeared to be
in a vengeful mood against Peshawar Deers, easily winning by four goals to one.

Lahore’s scorers in the first match, Sidra Parvaiz and Shahrika Sarwar, were again among the goal-getters.

In the opening match, the defending champions Lahore Lions were surprisingly held to a 2-2 by the Karachi Dolphins. Lahore Lions were apparently cruising to an easy victory courtesy two field goals scored by Sidra Pervaiz and 11-year-old Sharika Sarwar. But Karachi fought back through their captain Afshan Naureen who neutralised both the goal via penalty corner conversions.

Lahore Lions drew with Karachi Dolphins 2-2. Scorers for Lahore Lions were Sidra Pervaiz & Sharika Sarwar whereas Karachi Dolphins scored through Afshan Naureen 2.In the second match, a brace by Saima Ghulam enabled Peshawar Deers to defeat Islamabad Shaheens by two goals to nil.
