Viral video shows Pakistani skipper Babar Azam doing workout for Bangladesh Test series

Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam has begun working out at the gym following the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) announcement of the men’s 2024-25 international cricket season schedule, which includes a two-match Test series at home against Bangladesh starting in August.

This Test series will be part of Pakistan’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 campaign, and winning it would boost their chances of reaching the finals.

After the series against Bangladesh, Pakistan will host England for a three-Test series. Azam has already started his fitness regimen to ensure he is in peak condition for the demanding red-ball matches.

In a video posted on his social media handles, Azam was seen performing various exercises to maintain his fitness for Pakistan’s upcoming busy schedule.

On Friday, the PCB announced the men’s 2024-25 international cricket season schedule. The home season will kick off with Bangladesh playing two Tests in Rawalpindi (August 21-25) and Karachi (August 30-September 3).

England will visit Pakistan for three Tests in Multan (October 7-11), Karachi (October 15-19), and Rawalpindi (October 24-28). The West Indies will also tour Pakistan for two Tests in Karachi (January 16-20) and Multan (January 24-28).
