#Metoo: Kailash Kher questions the legitimacy of the accusations against him
Singer Kailash Kher, who has been accused by several women of sexual harassment, has reacted to the news bu saying that if a person is not making an official complaint and just continues to accuse, it is not legitimate.

A few months ago, singer Sona Mahapatra had shared her alleged unpleasant experience with the singer. Soon after that, at least four other women raised allegations against him.  Sona, in an interview, has said, she will not press charges against Kailash, but she will make sure he doesn’t repeat his alleged act again.

Kailash responded by saying, “Everyone has their own thinking. If I accuse someone only by taking that individual’s name over and over again then, nothing will come out of it. If you will take legal recourse against that person, then it becomes another matter altogether."

“If I tell you that I will not make a complaint against that individual, but still I will accuse him of doing certain criminal activity, then I feel it’s not an authentic complaint,” he added.

Does he feel Sona’s allegations are baseless?

To this, Kher responded, “No. I will not decide what is right and what is wrong. I have never accused someone. I am living my life. We are simply human beings and we focus on creating music.”

After the #MeToo movement caught up with Bollywood, celebrities including filmmaker Vikas Bahl, actors Nana Patekar, Rajat Kapoor and Alok Nath and poet-lyricist Vairamuthu, among others, have been named as alleged sexual predators. Film bodies such as Indian Film and Television Directors' Association or IFTDA, MAMI and CINTAA have promised to take proactive measures against those involved in #MeToo allegations.
