LAHORE – Facebook on Saturday reportedly disabled an account of a user not long after he posted a photo of Burhan Wani, a slain commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, to express solidarity with people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
A Pakistani user talking to Daily Pakistan on condition of anonymity said that he set a picture of martyr Wani, which was posted by ISPR on his official account, as his cover photo on his Facebook profile, but his account was blocked in less than a minute after the post.
Referring to the reasons for blocking the account by the social media site, the affectee questioned whether Burhan Wani was a terrorist or our national hero.
He said that a complaint was lodged with Facebook administration but his account has not been activated.
The victim also asked the government of Pakistan to direct Facebook not to interfere in the internal matters of the country.
“Kashimirs are our brothers and we will continue support for them,” he asserted.
The Facebook user posted the following picture, which was also shared by ISPR:
