ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Former speaker of the national assembly, Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq, is set to face Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Shafqat Mahmood on Monday in a run for the office once again.
MNAs from Federally Administrated Tribunal Areas (FATA) have also nominated Mr G G Jamal as their candidate for the slot.
Speaking to newsmen after submitting nomination papers, Ayaz Sadiq said that he enjoys support of PPP, JUI-F, PML-Q and MQM apart from his own party PML-N. I have also approached Jamaat-e-Islami requesting them to vote for me in the election, he said.
Shafqat Mahmood has also filed the nomination papers, saying that his party will compete PML-N government at every level.
The election will be carried out through secret balloting in NA building on Monday.
