KARACHI – Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have unveiled irrefutable evidences behind the suspects arrested in connection with the murder of celebrated qawwal Amjad Sabri.
In an interview to local television, SSP Counter-Terrorism Department Raja Umar Khattab expressed confidence that the police has irrefutable evidence that the arrested Asim Capri and Ishaq Bobby were behind the famed qawwal’s murder.
He said that it was necessary that the family members of Sabri should breath a sigh of relief after the assassin’s arrest and for this purpose he will personally visit the family to satisfy them.
He also revealed that Additional IGP CTD had personally monitored this high-profile case and examined all evidence, after which the department informed the Chief Minister Sindh.
He added that the Chief Minister was also convinced that the information and evidence leading to those arrests was tangible, which led him to address the press conference himself.
Khattab claimed that the evidence was also admissible in court and expressed confidence that the cases would be thwarted and that justice would be served.
Amjad Sabri was killed on 22nd June in Liaquatabad Town. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday said several people had been arrested including Asim alias Capri who is alleged to be part of a proscribed outfit.
