LAHORE (Staff Report) – Panic gripped citizens when an earthquake — measuring 6.6 on Richter scale by US Geological Survey — jolted Lahore including Islamabad on Sunday afternoon.
Tremors were felt in Peshawar, Murree, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Azad Kashmir and surrounding areas. People rushed out of their homes in panic. No loss of life or property has been reported as yet.
The quake struck at 3.29pm (PST) and went on for several seconds. Its epicentre lay 39 km from Ashkasham in Afghanistan.
Tremors were also felt across north India, including Delhi and National Capital Region, Indian occupied Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
