Hillary Clinton lauds Malala s commitment for girls’ education

WASHINGTON  – Former first lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton hailed Pakistani Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai for her commitment to the rights of girls around the world.

The former secretary of state took to Instagram on Tuesday and posted a picture of Malala with tons of appreciation, saying her resilience and commitment to justice has made her a leading voice for the rights of girls around the world.

‘If one man can destroy everything, why can’t one girl change it?’ Clinton quoted Malala’s oneliner.

In October 2012, Malala — then 15-years-old — was shot in the head at point-blank range by Taliban gunmen as she was returning from her school in Swat valley. She suffered bullet injuries and was admitted to the Military Hospital Peshawar and then taken to London for further treatment.

Fortunately, the girl survived the attack, however, the assault prompted a self-exile for the family – which was able to visit the homeland in March this year.

Malala is currently enrolled at Oxford and has been advocating the rights of women in her worldwide tours.
