Three BLA militants handed death sentence in pipeline blast case

BAHAWALPUR – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has awarded death sentence to three militants of the banned outfit, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), for killing four people in a gas pipeline blast.

The court also imposed fine and ordered to seize their properties after they – Muhammad Ramzan, Miawa and Mehar Din – found guilty in bombing the main gas pipeline near Abadpur in Rahim Yar Khan in 2014.

The amount of the fine will be paid to the families of the killed citizens, while the properties will be confiscated in favour of the government.

Following the blast, some houses close to the bombing spot demolished in which three men and woman lost their lives. Due to the impact of the blast, the crops around the site were also burnt.

The Abadpur police had registered cases against the militants under Sections 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 3/4 of the Explosives Act and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. The police also submitted a charge-sheet against them to an anti-terrorism court in Bahawalpur.
