NEW DELHI – Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit says the 19th summit of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation will be held in Islamabad.
In an interview on Wednesday, he said that the summit, which has been sabotaged by India, can take place next year. He said SAARC summits have been postponed in the past as well.
To a question, the High Commissioner said India is not interested in talks with Pakistan along the Kashmir issue. He stated that the two nations require to move forward demonstrating rationality for ensuring peace in the region.
Abdul Basit said the Indian External Affairs Ministry has not shared any evidence with Pakistan regarding the Uri attack. He said Pakistan has been demanding independent international investigation of the incident since day one.
He said investigation into the incidents of Pathankot and Mumbai got delayed due to non-cooperation of India.
