ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The law enforcement agencies Saturday thwarted a major terror bid in the federal capital by recovering a huge cache of arms and explosive material.
Over 70 suspects including six terrorists were arrested and a large cache of weapons was seized from them during a raid on a house in the Tarnol area.

Police and Rangers seized two SMGs, rifles, Kalashnikovs, 19 30-bore pistols, six detonators, 1500 meter wire and 190 kg explosive material from the house.
Security sources told the Daily Pakistan that the suspects were planning a major terrorist attack in Islamabad.

Separately, the security forces also picked 70 suspects during raids in different areas of Islamabad.
The security forces also unearthed a wine factory and 200 bottles of liquor were seized from the factory. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. Majority of the suspects hailed from different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police are interrogating the suspects in Tarnol police station.
