RAWALPINDI – PTI founder Imran Khan has stated that the entire party should be prepared as he will soon announce taking to the streets. He urged the nation to rise for a street movement to protect their freedom, describing their movement as a fight for democracy.
Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan said that he and Bushra Bibi are in jail due to Judge Humayun Dilawar. He accused the government of rewarding any judge who rules against them, claiming that Dilawar was given land worth billions as a gift, with evidence of this held by KP Anti-Corruption. He added that the FIA has now filed a case against the KP Anti-Corruption department.
The former prime minister also accused Mohsin Naqvi of inflicting the greatest injustices on them, alleging that Zille Shah was killed by police torture, his body dumped on the road, and an FIR was lodged against him (Imran).
In exchange for these actions, Naqvi was made Interior Minister and PCB Chairman. Khan also claimed that Qazi Faez Isa protected those oppressing them, stripped them of their election symbol, and refused to hear their human rights petitions.
Imran Khan further said that former Commissioner Rawalpindi held the Chief Justice and Election Commission responsible for election rigging, and now the same Chief Justice will be reinstalled. He compared the situation to Yahya Khan, who betrayed the Awami League and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to maintain power, asserting that similar actions are being taken for personal gain today, with even the Supreme Court under attack.
He added that Nawaz Sharif is being restrained with fear; otherwise, he would have fled long ago. Khan called on the nation to join the street movement to protect democracy and urged the judiciary to uphold the rule of law, stating that the absence of rule of law is why investment isn’t coming into the country.
He concluded by saying that the party should be ready as they will soon announce a call for street protests. He mentioned that Saadullah Baloch’s wife and daughter were abducted and criticized the authorities for arresting parliamentarians and illegally imprisoning his wife.
Khan also referenced a recent statement, declaring his support for Ali Amin Gandapur and calling anyone who apologizes for Gandapur’s remarks a coward, unworthy of the party.
