MUMBAI (Web Desk) – Emraan Hashmi – Vidya Balan starrer ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ which has not received rave reviews, was a bummer at the box office as it managed to mint only Rs. 5.04 crore on day one of its release, Indian Express reported on Sunday.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:

There were a lot of expectations from the movie, but it was criticised for being too over stretched and regressive. But the trio of Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao have won accolades for their performances.
This is the third time we saw Vidya and Emraan as onscreen couple, last two being ‘ The Dirty Piture’ and ‘Ghanchakkar’. Rajkummar Rao, who plays a drunkard and is seen as Vidya’s husband, has been congratulated for his performance.
After movies like ‘Piku’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, the bar for the movies has risen. Being a holiday season, director Mohit Suri might be lucky enough to increase the numbers at the box office, though word of mouth for the movie is not strong.
