A strange case of obsessive love has emerged in England, where a nurse’s relentless pursuit of a doctor forced him to seek legal help.
According to reports, 30-year-old nurse Sophie Colville, working at a hospital in England, became infatuated with 54-year-old dentist Dr. David after the death of his wife. What began as a comforting friendship soon spiraled into an obsession. When their relationship ended, Sophie’s actions escalated to a point where Dr. David had no choice but to take the matter to court.
In his court testimony, Dr. David shared that after their breakup, Sophie called him over a thousand times in a single day and even placed a tracking device in his car. Her behavior became more extreme—she broke into his home and hid in his bedroom, waiting for him. When Dr. David realized someone was in the room, Sophie escaped through the window.
At another point, she tried to grab Dr. David’s phone in a confrontation. Despite his efforts to cut ties, Sophie’s obsessive actions persisted.
After reviewing the case, the court sentenced Sophie to 20 weeks in prison and issued a five-year restraining order, barring her from contacting Dr. David or going near his home or workplace.
This unsettling case highlights the dangerous line between love and obsession, demonstrating the lengths some individuals will go when faced with unrequited emotions.
