Karachi hospitals crowded with overeating patients on Eid-ul-Azha

KARACHI – Over 4,000 people visited Karachi hospitals due to overeating on Eid-ul-Azha.
The Health Department confirmed that people visited private and government hospitals with complaints of diarrhea, dehydration and vomiting.

According to a spokesman for the Health Department, more than 2200 people were reported to visit Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Complex (JPMC), 1000 people had visited Civil Hospital Karachi and 500 had visited to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Director Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Dr Huma Ahmed said due to overeating gastro, dehydration, vomiting are common on Eid-ul-Azha.

People should take minimum meal and try to avoid eating oily and junk food, she added.
Director Health Karachi Dr Shakoor Abbasi said that people should take vegetables in lunch and dinner beside meat or mutton and heart, diabetic and hypertension patients should avoid soft drinks.

Over 1,000 people also visited hospitals for injuries sustained while sacrificing animals.
