CJP Saqib Nisar takes notice of selling fake stents to heart patients

ISLAMABAD – Supreme Court Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took suo moto notice of selling fake stents to heart patients and fraudulently extracting money from them.

He has ordered Federal Investigation Agency Director General to take action and present a report.

The JCP has taken notice following news regarding implantation of fake stents in heart patients at Mayo Hospital Lahore.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting on Monday regarding the issue.

Specialised Health and Medical Education Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, Specialised Health and Medical Education Secretary, Special Branch additional IG and Punjab Institute of Cardiology CEO also attended the meeting.

The CM ordered an inquiry into the matter and formed a committee headed by the Chief Minister Inspection Team chairman and ordered the committee to submit a report within seven days.

Shahbaz Sharif had directed strict implementation of the ban on entry of unregistered vendors in the hospitals and said that no complaint should be received in this regard in the future.
