Xian, China (APP) – Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir has offered member countries of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation to use Pakistani ports to promote their trade once the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is completed.
Addressing a meeting of Commerce Ministers of SCO at Xian city of China, he said Pakistan’s trade strategy focuses on developing linkages with our neighbors and capitalization on regional connectivity initiatives.
The Minister emphasized that cross border land trade is especially important for land locked countries as Pakistan and SCO will benefit substantially from greater integration through energy, commerce and transit trade.
The Minister said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a landmark initiative under the umbrella of One Belt One Road and this economic corridor will connect the nodes of growth centers, falling between Kashgar and Gwadar.
In line with the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of shared prosperity through connectivity, we have undertaken several initiatives that include rebooting of Quadrilateral Agreement for Traffic in Transit between China, Khrgyz, Republic, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
