Supermodel Amna Ilyas and Sadaf Kanwal recently made an appearance at Tonight with HSY. During their appearance, they both talked about many things fun and made us laugh but their comments about #metoo movement and bullying on social media were really really off.
While talking about social media Amna Ilyas responded, “you know all these issues girls talk about like bullying, these things are just temporary, they are not going to get you anywhere. So, talk about something which is actually happening around in this world, like people are dying.”
While we’d hate to burst bubble Amna Ilyas is living in, bullying is actually a real problem. According to a research by Suzet Tanya Lereya, William E Copeland, E Jane Costello, Dieter Wolke, being bullied has similar and in some cases worse long-term adverse effects on young adults’ mental health than being maltreated.
Here are some more facts fro Amna Ilyas and Sadaf Kanwal:
1-Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University
2- A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying
3- 10 to 14-year-old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above
4- According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying

This God-forsaken discussion didn’t stop there, these two gorgeous ladies went on making comments on #metoo movement. Sadaf Kanwal particularly caught our attention by saying, “Me Too tab ho jab app bol do, itni deir bad app ko yad aa raha hay me too.”
She went on saying, “if me too [sexual harassment] ever happened to me, I’ll speak about it. And I’ll not use social media to speak about it but I’ll tell you all about it.”
Well! here is a thing for you Sadaf, #metoo is a movement and not an action. And we are pretty sure social media is a way of telling everyone about it.
We love you two gorgeous ladies but the way you represented yourselves on the show, the topics you spoke about and the way you guys spoke about these issues have really put us off.
Also, social media is a place for everyone, you can’t just degrade anyone for claiming their space on it.
