Punjab policemen booked for sexually assaulting, filming boy in Lahore s torture cell

LAHORE – A case has been registered against two policemen for allegedly sexually assaulting a boy, filming him and torturing him at a private torture cell in Lahore.

Sherakot police station lodged FIR no 258/18 under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) following the orders of a lower court after six days of the incident. Medical reports of the victim also confirmed the incident.

Police have arrested one of the accused assistant Sub-Inspector Imran, while Constable Shafaqat is still at large and efforts are underway to trace him.

According to the complaint, the accused called the victim from his house and took him to a private torture cell located near Bund Road.

He was then assaulted by Constable Shafaqat, who was drunk, while officer Imran filmed the whole incident. Later, the cops put the boy behind bars, forging a case of motorcycle theft against him, and threatened to kill him in a fake encounter if he revealed the incident.

Eventually, the parents of the boy reached the police station and got his son freed. The victim told his parents about the incident; however, the SHO of Sherakot was reluctant to register a case.

After the court orders, the police registered a case on Monday. The victim’s family said no action has been taken against the accused as Imran was enjoying protocol at Muslim Town police station, while another is missing.

The relatives of the boy threatened to stage a protest outside the CM’s Secretariat for not giving justice.
