Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s much-anticipated arrival at PTI’s Lahore rally was marred by roadblocks and delays, forcing him to address supporters from the Ring Road instead of the main venue. Despite leading a convoy of over 500 vehicles, including buses and rescue teams, Gandapur encountered significant obstacles on his way, which delayed his arrival.
As per reports, the district administration had allowed PTI to hold the rally from 2 PM to 6 PM, but the event exceeded the permitted time. When Gandapur’s convoy approached Ferozewala, it was met with barricades, including a large truck that blocked the road. Infuriated by the delay, Gandapur took matters into his own hands, reportedly smashing the truck’s window with a pistol to clear the path. However, despite his efforts, he was only able to reach the outskirts of the rally venue.
Standing on Ring Road, Gandapur addressed the supporters who were eagerly awaiting his arrival. “I have broken through all the barriers to be here with you. Are you happy to see me?” he asked, as the crowd cheered in response. He assured them of his unwavering commitment to securing the release of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, stating, “I will do whatever it takes to free Imran Khan very soon.”
After a brief but impassioned speech, Gandapur asked for the crowd’s permission to end his address, stating that more challenges lay ahead. He then departed with his convoy, unable to proceed to the rally grounds due to the police intervention.
Earlier in the day, the district administration cut the power to the rally venue after the event exceeded the time limit, and police were instructed to clear the stage. Despite these challenges, PTI workers remained resolute, accusing the police of confiscating equipment and preventing attendees from reaching the rally. However, Gandapur’s determination and his dramatic arrival showcased the resilience of PTI’s leadership amid increasing pressure.
