Tayyaba torture case: Another inquiry to be conducted against accused judge

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is going to start another departmental inquiry against Additional Session Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan nominated in Tayyaba torture case.

Earlier, a confidential inquiry was made against him following the direction of IHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi and sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, but it has not been made public so far.

The accused judge was also made an officer on special duty (OSD) after the case.

Now, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of IHC will conduct the inquiry in the case and summon Raja Khurram for questioning over hiring a 10-year-old girl for domestic help.

Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife are facing charges of their alleged involvement in keeping a housemaid in illicit confinement.

The couple was also accused of burning her hand over a stove, beating her with a ladle, detaining her in a storeroom and threatening her with dire consequences.
