DUBAI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) gave a ruling over the controversial dismissal of a batsman after a video of a Pakistani street match was sent to it for a review.
As the ICC shared the video on its Twitter and Facebook page with a title, “In or Out,” social media jumped in with their opinions.
The video shows a boy playing the shot to the midwicket but the ball return to hit the stump from under his legs after he hit the ball. However, the umpire of the amateur match declared it out.
Later, the video of the controversial decision was sent to the ICC by a cricket fan, Hamza, asking the cricket body to give a ruling on it.
In response, the ICC shared its ruling on the social media, saying, “A fan named Hamza sent this video to us this morning asking for a ruling”.

“Unfortunately for the (very unlucky) batsman, law 32.1 confirmed this is…. out!” the ICC ruled.
“The striker is out bowled if his wicket is put down by a ball delivered by the bowler, not being a no ball, even if it first touches the striker’s bat or person,” law 32.1 of the ICC’s playing conditions reads.
