Shamoon Ismail’s concert brought to a sudden end after violation of SOPs 

KARACHI – Shamoon Ismail was all set to be back on stage this weekend for a performance at Karachi Avari towers. On Saturday, the singer was welcomed whole-heartedly by an enthusiastic crowd who enjoyed the concert till the very end, where it was brought to an abrupt halt by the police and commissioner Karachi officials.

As per reports, the renowned singer was asked to stop performing due to a violation of government-issued SOPs for Covid-19.

The police team lead by Saddar Assistant Commissioner Sherina Asad arrived at the hotel and stopped the concert organized by Salt Arts. Moreover, it’s also rumoured that a fine of 100,000 was imposed on the organizers.

“Please follow SOPs, everyone,” Asad said. “Concert can wait. Recreational activities can wait. Stay home, stay safe.”

The event was organized near the poolside area at Avari towers. In a post on social media, Salt Arts assured that SOPs were being followed and the wearing of a face mask was compulsory.

South Deputy Commissioner Irshad Sodhar said that the action was taken after a complaint was received that coronavirus SOPs were not being followed at the concert.

“We will not tolerate violations against any precautions given by the government,” he said.

Shamoon later shared an Instagram story and wrote, “Unexpected end to a great vibe.” He added, “K-town fans, love you forever!”

The government of Sindh has imposed a ban on all indoor gatherings and weddings inside marriage halls. Also, people cannot host outdoor events of more than 300 people. Wearing of masks has been made compulsory. This decision was imposed after Pakistan was experiencing a second wave of the deadly coronavirus.
