PM Nawaz inaugurates Multan metro bus project

MULTAN – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated metro bus project in Multan here on Tuesday (Today).

The prestigious ceremony was attended by governor Punjab Rafiq Rajwana, members of the national and provincial assembly and ambassadors from scores of different countries.

The premier after inaugurating the project aimed at facilitating citizens also took a ride of bus and inspected different sections of the route.

For the first phase of the project, almost 100,000 people would travel in 35 buses everyday. There are 21 different stations situated at a distance of almost  700 metres from each other. The project covers a total 18.5kilometres.

According to Punjab govt’s spokesman, Malik Ahmed Khan, the cost of the project is 28.5 billion and the project took 18 months for completion.

‘Punjab stands on distinctive position regarding health sector as it spent 14 percent of total budget on heath’ he said in reference to the ignored health sector in the province.
