FAISALABAD – Panthers secured their spot in the final by defeating Markhors by 7 wickets in the Qualifier 1 of the Champions One-Day Cup.
The match, held in Faisalabad, saw Markhors winning the toss and opting to bat first, a decision that backfired as they were bowled out for just 137 runs.
Markhors’ top order collapsed early, losing 4 wickets for only 25 runs. Haseebullah scored 3, Kamran Ghulam 1, Mohammad Rizwan 0, and Fakhar Zaman managed 11 runs.
Agha Salman (52) and Iftikhar Ahmed (39) provided some resistance, but their efforts were not enough, and the team was all out for 137 in 36 overs.
Panthers’ Saim Ayub bowled exceptionally, taking 5 wickets, while Mohammad Hasnain claimed 3.
In response, Panthers chased down the target of 138 in 24 overs, losing 3 wickets. Usman Khan remained unbeaten with 54 runs, while Umar Siddiq scored 35, and Saim Ayub contributed 33.
With this victory, Panthers have qualified for the final.
In the upcoming matches, Stallions will face Lions in Eliminator 1 on Wednesday, and the winner will take on Markhors in Eliminator 2.
