Roe Vs Wade: The Fuss All Over the World

The Roe vs. Wade ruling overturn regarding abortion has been making headlines and caused an uproar in the public. The news came out on June 24, 2022, when the Supreme Court overruled Roe in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, holding “the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion” and that “the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.”

Not only the local public but many celebrities and government officials have spoken about the unsolicited interference with women’s basic rights and dug up an old case to overrule it. Celebrities and conspicuous people namely Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Jamie Lee Curtis, Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, and Michelle Obama have voiced their concerns, and claim that the Supreme Court stooped very low.

The local public is protesting and marching in different cities to show their anger and resentment over such an appalling move. Several U.S. states immediately banned abortion, including  Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. Almost half the states are expected to quickly outlaw or severely restrict abortion as a result of the decision. The decision-makers are content with their judgment.

The violation of basic human rights not only sat right with the American Public but also faced backlash from several countries.
