RIYADH (Web Desk) – Authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested a farmer for stopping cars at gun point to clear the road for his camels to cross to the other side.
A YouTube film published by Arabic daily ‘Sada’ and social networks showed the farmer was carrying a Russian-made Kalashnikov assault machine gun as many cars waited for his herd of camels to cross the road in the Northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin, located 430 km north of Riyadh.
Police spokesman Colonel Ziad Al Rugaiti said the man, during interrogation, denied threatening any driver with his machine gun.
Police have referred the case to competent authorities in the Eastern Province.
The man, in his 40s, had a gun licence, according to the police spokesman.
