Global drug mafia using wealthy youth, govt officials for anti-state activities
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Global drug mafia has been taking over various cities of Pakistan, deteriorating youth of the country including children of landowners, business tycoons, bureaucrats and prominent government and private sector personalities.

The very drug mafia was famous in supplying unique and rare drugs and their different forms in elite dance parties and underground gigs in different areas of major cities of Pakistan including private residences, farmhouses, hotels and guest houses in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and other cities, Dunya News reported.

Many young boys and girls were initially invited to the parties and a slightly light dose of cocktail ( a type of drug), Ecstasy tablets, Columbian Cocaine, Molly and MDMA was given to each attendee of the party so that they could get addicted to it and eventually end up buying those drugs in exchange of heavy amounts.

In a report released by secret agencies, the mafia had been spreading across the country at a low yet affective pace. It was believed that top-notch government officials were also seen in the party which could further lead them to addiction. In accordance with their addiction and availability of drugs, it was feared that different tasks could be performed by the officials against the state in order for drug acquisition.

The report also revealed that Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad were the hubs of the drug trade. Johar Town, Satu Katla, Burki Road, Manawan, Gajju Mata, Bedian Road farmhouses, Defence, Shadman, Gulberg and Nasirabad were the areas where dance parties and gigs being organised. Entry ticket for each person varied from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. Instead of preventing such trade, the local police were reported offering security for such gatherings.

These costly yet unique drugs were mainly imported from India and Europe. Each Cocktail tablet cost Rs 3000 to Rs 35000, Ecstasy tablet and Columbian Cocaine from Rs 12,000 to Rs 30,000 per gram while the availability of English alcohol was also made sure.

The mafia had also been reported inviting youth from rich and influential families after which their secret videos were made during the time when guests were left helpless in ‘peak rushes’ ( a state when drug fully controls mind and body of the user).

The report further stated that many casualties were reported in such gatherings due to the mixing of low-quality chemicals. A person had been seen selling 3rd class drugs in a block near the area Defence while another drug dealer namely Pervaiz was caught selling harmful and injurious alcohol in the name of English branded alcohols.

Statistics revealed that 472 drug users were shifted to the hospital out of which 32 people were reported dead. Talking to Dunya News, All Pakistan Family Physicians’ President Dr. Tariq Mian said that such drugs directly affect the brain, raises blood pressure which sometimes lead to Brain Hemorrhage.

USD to PKR: Pakistani rupee continues recovery against dollar, rises by Rs1.04 in interbank

KARACHI – The Pakistani rupee continued its positive trajectory against the US dollar in the interbank market on Thursday with the local currency’s recovery relating to crackdown launched against hoarders and outflows of the foreign currency through unlawful means.

During the intraday trading, PKR moved up against the USD, and hovered at 287.73, with an increase of Rs1.04, in the interbank market.

Yesterday, the Pakistani rupee appreciated 0.36pc to settle at 288.75.

Last week, the government said a crackdown to prevent cross-border smuggling was initiated across Pakistan. The country’s central bank also stepped up supervision of the foreign exchange market, ordering banks to set up separate entities to conduct forex transactions.

The SBP also introduced structural reforms in the exchange companies’ sector to provide better services and to ensure a transparent system.

KARACHI - The price of a single tola of 24-karat gold in Pakistan is Rs 202,600 on Thursday.

The price of 10 grams of 24k gold was recorded at Rs 177,700. Likewise, 10 grams of 22k gold were being traded for Rs168,730 while a single tola of 22-karat gold was being sold at Rs196,807.
