LAHORE – WWF-Pakistan will celebrate Earth Hour by switching off lights for an hour on March 30 (Saturday) from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m.
According to a press release issued here on Thursday, every year World Wide Foundation (WWF) celebrates Earth Hour all over the world by switching off extra lights from 8.30pm to 9.30pm in every local time zone.
The main function about Earth Hour will be held at Wapda House Lahore.
Landmarks across the country will dim their lights and join WWF-Pakistan’s call to stand with millions of people across the world to connect to the earth, combat climate change and protect our biodiversity and nature, the press release added.
Earth Hour is the world’s largest voluntary action and is a celebration of our planet. The campaign encourages individuals, businesses and governments around the world to take accountability for their ecological footprint, engage in dialogue and resource exchange that provides real solutions to our environmental challenges.
Participation in Earth Hour, by switching off unnecessary lights for the hour symbolizes a commitment to change beyond the hour.
