NA passes joint resolution rejecting Donald Trump s Afghan policy

ISLAMABAD – The National Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a joint resolution rejecting the Afghan policy unveiled by US President Donald Trump, last week.

According to the resolution whole of Pakistan stood united against the policy of Donald Trump and the statements by the president and General Nicholson were threatening.

‘We reject the new US policy for South-Asia’ it read and claimed that Pakistan lost over $123 billion and over 70,000 lives in the war against terrorism.

‘The National Assembly expresses its serious concern over the increasing concentration of ISIS and other terrorist networks in Afghan provinces bordering Pakistan and demands that Afghanistan and US and its allies should close their borders to leaders of terrorists, militant groups, carrying out acts of terrorism against Pakistan’ it read.

‘This house acknowledges the sacrifices rendered by security forces’ the resolution said and rejected the statement of Trump administration officials that leadership of Afghan Taliban was hiding in Quetta and Peshawar.

The resolution also affirmed that Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris.

‘US bid to make India supreme would lead to regional anxiety’ it said.

‘The Afghan government should close all safe havens being provided to Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan, Jamaatul Ahrar and other terrorists organizations from where terror attacks are conducted against Pakistan’ the resolution noted.

The resolution also highlighted that US ,Nato, and Afghan government should ensure that India is denied the use of Afghan territory to conduct terrorist attacks against Pakistan.

While presenting the resolution, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif expressed that former President Pervez Musharraf was the man who indulged in the Afghan war.
