Govt announces new ECL policy

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk)- The federal government Wednesday launched new Exit Control policy (ECL) policy.

According to the new policy, names on ECL would be put after the recommendations of Supreme Court, Lahore High Court, FIA and NAB.

Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said that names of about five thousand people have been removed from the new ECL and over fifty nine thousand from the black list.

He said a separate ECL policy would be formulated for foreigners.

He said people can be put on ECL for the maximum three years under the new policy.

He said that people belonging to the proscribed organizations, accused of drug trafficking, and involved in spying against the country would never be allowed to travel abroad
