Earlier today, Facebook and Instagram users around the world complained about glitches in Facebook Messenger and Instagram messages.
The users were not able to load any previous messages nor were they able to send any new messages
According to the website Downdetector.pk, which monitors online outages, users in Pakistan also reported similar issues which started around 2:30 pm (PST).
Fahad Malik wrote to Downdetector.pk “I can’t send msgs and receive msgs. Msngr is stopped in Lahore, Pakistan”.
Facebook which is currently facing two massive anti-trust lawsuits in the US says the disruptions have since been resolved. “Earlier today, some people have experienced trouble sending or receiving messages on Messenger, Instagram or Workplace Chat. The issue has since been resolved and we apologize for any inconvenience,” a Facebook spokesperson wrote in an email to The Verge.
The company has integrated messages of both Instagram and Messenger which means if one of them will face an issue, the other will be affected as well, that is the reason Whatsapp remained uninterrupted even while being owned by the same company.
