PIA’s flight to Peshawar lands in Karachi, sparking passengers outrage

Pias Flight To Peshawar Lands In Karachi Sparking Passengers Outrage

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) continues to remain in news for wrong reasons and this time passengers traveling on national carrier left fuming as a Peshawar-bound flight plane landed in Karachi.

A clip surfaced online, showing passengers in frustration, and it soon amassed reactions, with people raising fingers at the management. Amid the outrage, Pakistani journalist clarified that flight PK-284, traveling from Dubai to Peshawar, made a ‘technical landing’ in Karachi due to mechanical issues.

Journo Tariq Abulhasan made clarification as footage shows passengers on the aircraft engaged in heated discussions with airport security personnel after being kept onboard for several hours.  After enduring the delay, they were eventually transferred to a replacement flight to Peshawar.

PIA Pilot also explained that the technical problem stemmed from a collision with a pushback truck in Dubai.  He noted that the airline arranged for essential parts to be sent from Dubai via a private airline. Although the pilot reached his 12-hour duty limit, the DGCA allowed an additional four hours, resulting in a total of 16 hours needed to restore the aircraft.

A technical landing was required to change the crew as they approached their extended duty limits.
