Policeman Martyred In Roadside Blast Targeting Diplomatic Convoy In Swat

SWAT – A diplomatic convoy has been attacked in northwestern Pakistan amid surge in terror attacks in which a police officer lost his life and three others were wounded.

Reports in local media said the convoy of foreign diplomats was moving in Swat, the home ground of TTP and other militants from 2007-2010.

The deceased police officer has been identified as Burhan Khan who died in an attack that occurred near Jehanabad while the convoy was returning from Malam Jabba. The bomb detonated when it struck a police vehicle that was part of the security detail for the diplomats.

The convoy included diplomats from several countries, including Bosnia, Russia, Vietnam, and Portugal. All diplomats remained safe and were moved to safety before returning to capital Islamabad.

A large number of law enforcers rushed to site secured area and are conducting an investigation into the explosion. TTP, or no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Foreign Office has condemned the incident, offering condolences to the family of the slain officer. They emphasized the bravery of law enforcement in facing such threats and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism.
