Saudi Arabia issues guidelines for taking photos in Masjidul Haram

JEDDAH – The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued new guidelines regarding taking photos in the Masjidul Haram or Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The guidelines were shared on the Ministry’s Facebook page for visitors, stating that pilgrims should stand at a safe distance away from crowds before taking pictures.

Visitors are advised to refrain from taking photos of other individuals’ personal and private moments.

The Saudi government’s guidelines also state that visitors should not take photos of anyone without their permission.

Additionally, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that visitors should not spend too much time taking pictures and should return to their worship activities afterward.

Huge number of pilgrims from across the world visits the holy mosque on daily basis to perform Umrah rituals. They used to share their photos and videos from the holy place on social media.
