SYDNEY (Web Desk) – A Sydney-based startup will now enable frequent flyers to travel Business or first class at much-reduced fares.
Seatfrog, a mobile application will let you upgrade to business or first class at the last minute and without much hassle. The app holds auctions for flyers looking for an upgraded seat.
The process of availing these discounts requires three simple steps, none of which require any documentation.
Commuters first add travel details into the app. The airline company, after evaluating seat capacity, opens up an auctions for flyers. Those who have added details can then bid.
Once a users bid is successful, they automatically receive an upgraded boarding pass on their handset.
The airline firm will also benefit from the app as it helps them fill empty seats, even at the last moment before the flight takes off.
The application which will be launched later this year has already raised $1.2 million in seed funding.
Former Quantas International CEO , Simon Hickey, is backing Seatfrog as an advisor and aims to make it a successful venture.
