CORNWALL (Web Desk) – A man took revenge on a woman for deleting him as a friend on Facebook by beheading her chickens.
Tanya Vincent had rescued four former egg-laying hens that had been destined for the slaughterhouse and kept them at her home.
She became worried after noticing that three of them had gone missing and starting searching for them by contacting friends and local vets.
Tanya was left devastated after finding her beloved pets Queenie, Shy and Dancer had been brutally killed, decapitated and dumped on her doorstep.
A fourth, known as Rosie, was seriously injured but has survived and been re-homed.
The poultry killer was homeless man Shane Barrett, 30, who appeared at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court charged with destroying three live chickens between May 27 and May 28.
He received a nine-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
