SIALKOT – The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif, who has recently been under flak for an extended stay in London while recovering from open heart surgery, is gearing up for the inauguration of new motorways and highways projects.
According to reports, the premier will be inaugurating the Sialkot-Lahore motorway on August 9.
PM Nawaz will also address a gathering of people on the same day at the Canal City Housing scheme.
The six-lane motorway will benefit locals from both cities. Reportedly, it will be linked with the M2 and N5 through a Lahore link road near Kala Shah Kaku.
The section of the motorway to be inaugurated in August was first envisioned in 2006 by the then Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
