Turkish airstrikes kill over 100 PKK militants

ANKARA – In Turkey, more than a hundred militants of outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party PKK have either been killed or wounded in airstrikes in south-east and east areas of the country.

According to State-run Anadolu news agency, fighter jets pounded ten PKK targets in Hakkari, Agri and Van provinces.

Turkey’s south-east has been rocked by waves of violence following the collapse last year of a ceasefire between the state and the PKK.

The PKK is considered a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
