RAWALPINDI – Federal Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman has claimed that Pakistan is the first country in South Asia which will do the experiment of 5G internet services to provide fastest internet connection.
“Pakistan has won GSMA award and occupied third position in the list of Mobile telecom operators”, she said this while addressing a ceremony of IT technology organised by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
A project is being worked out for provision of one mobile tower to each village for 100 consumers till 2030, she said
During the last two years the broadband access has been increased from 3 percent to 27pc, she added.
“We are working to make Pakistan digital and work is also underway to establish E-commerce, start ups, free lance and digital economy through IT”, she added.-Onlne
