DOMBIVLI – Police have arrested a man, who has been raping his 12-year-old daughter for 15 months when his wife was away from home, in Mumbai.
The accused, who works as attendant in Central Railway, also threatened her not to tell anyone about it.
According to police, the accused used to rape his daughter when his wife was not present at home.
One day, when her father was out of town, the victim told her mother about it, and she subsequently lodged a police complaint. Later, the police arrested the accused.
A case was registered under section 376 and 377 of the Indian Penal Code and Protecting of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act, 2012.
The police produced the accused before the court where he was remanded in police custody till August 24.
